The
Heritage Room at Sinsinawa Mound
The Sinsinawa Dominican Archives is the official repository for materials about the origin, history, and growth of the Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation of the Most Holy Rosary and its ministries since 1847. Special collections include the materials of our founder, the Venerable Samuel Mazzuchelli, OP, oral histories of the Sisters and others who are in relationship with the Congregation, and histories of the missions in which we have served or are now serving.
The Archives Department contains the records of the deceased and former members of the Congregation, as well as records of students of St. Clara Academy. Transcripts of Academy students are available upon written request.
The Heritage Room contains artifacts and photographs relevant to the history of the Congregation. It is open by appointment.
Phone, e-mail, and postal mail requests for limited research are accepted. On-site researchers are accommodated only by prior arrangement with the Archives Department. Most records are open for research; however, some administrative records are restricted. Credit must be given for materials used in publications. A fee is charged for extensive research. Research hours are Monday through Friday (except holidays), 9:30–11:30 a.m. and 1–3:30 p.m.
