Sister Carol Fox
Sister Carol teaches English as a Second Language classes at Oakton Community College in Illinois. “For the most part, I deal with a group of marginalized people without a voice,” Sister Carol said. “My job is not only to teach them skills in English, their second language, by to encourage them and give them a voice to express their feelings and experiences.” She has learned a new respect for people who take on the difficult challenge of leaving their homeland and starting over in a new language and culture.
