College Teaching

Sr. Catherine DooleySister Catherine Dooley
For the past 24 years, Sr. Catherine has been on the faculty at the School of Theology and Religious Studies at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She teaches in the areas of catechetics and liturgy on both the undergraduate and graduate levels. "It is a privilege to work with them on their studies. I am so proud of the significant contributions students make through their writing and teaching as graduates," said Sr. Catherine.

Sr. Judith ShaeferSister Judith Schaefer
As professor of theology and pastoral ministry at St. Mary's University of Minnesota, Sr. Judith has the privilege and challenge of preparing young people to be youth and pastoral ministers in the Catholic Church. She said her teaching is a privileged moment to learn once again that the Gospel speaks in all ages, to all ages, when we humbly proclaim it, step aside, and set it loose. "I pray that my work will aid the spread of the Gospel in our time, especially within the Church itself."

Sr. Margaret O'BrienSister Margaret O'Brien
Sr. Margaret ministers at Edgewood College, Madison, Wisconsin, teaching three classes to undergraduates. She also coordinates the practicum placements for students and supervises student teachers. "During the past several years at Edgewood College, many changes have occurred, but the mission remains the same--'educating students for meaningful personal and professional lives of ethical leadership, service, and a lifelong search for truth,'" said Sr. Margaret.

Sister Mary KremerSister Mary Kremer
Sister Mary teaches men and women who are preparing to become a new generation on educators at Dominican University, in River Forest, Illinois. In today’s world, she believes in asking students to teach one another, to invite them the choose the content they will study and the products they will create to demonstrate their knowledge, to learn together rather than competing for grades, to evaluate their own work, and to assign their own grades. “In my mind, teachers represent our best hope for the creation of a more just and holy society,” said Sr. Mary.
