High School Teaching

Sister Linda Surette Sister Linda Surette with two students

As a scripture teacher at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, Milwaukee, Sr. Linda has always enjoyed teaching and the relationships that form along with it. "I pray that my students find the fun in living and loving and learning about all God has to offer," said Sr. Linda. "I have been privileged to be part of the learning experience of many young people."

For more than 15 years, Sister Margaret has taught in the Religious Studies Department at Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. As teacher of world religion, Christian service, and morality classes, she has witnessed many changes through the years. “Whatever the challenges or changes, it is still a privilege to encourage teenagers to not just study but to live the Dominican values of truth, compassion, justice, community, and partnership and to be counter-cultural in a materialistic world,” she said.

As a teacher at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas, Sister Cecilia calls her job “the best in the world.” Teaching gives her life, joy, friendships, fulfillment, and love. “We are on a journey together, searching for answers to questions about how the universe works, and in the process, learning about the God who made it,” she said. “The teachers I work with continually inspire me with their dedication, concern, and devotion to their students.”
