Take a walk around Sinsinawa Mound and you will enter a world filled with blooming flowers, thriving plants, and budding trees.

Mound Horticulturist Cindy Kelly views her work as a chance to connect with nature. “There are different challenges with each season,” says Cindy. “We take care of the land because it takes care of us.”

Sister Sarah Anne Kaminski cares for several flower beds at the Mound. She describes the beds as seasonal points of beauty that both Sisters and guests enjoy. “I enjoy the quiet and listen for the return of the birds and butterflies,” she says. She tries to make the gardens close to the sidewalks at the Mound so that everyone can appreciate and share in the beauty.

Through the efforts of many, the grounds at Sinsinawa Mound are a place of beauty for all to experience.
