Associates
Associates are baptized persons of any faith, culture, and race who commit themselves to live out the Dominican values of prayer, study, community, and mission. This diversity enriches us and expands our vision toward a global community.
We feel strongly that together we can:
- Grow in relationship with one another and with the whole human family through the sharing of vision and talents.
- Form a strong partnership in order to proclaim the Gospel in word and action.
- Come to a greater understanding of justice through the study of faith, culture, and the signs of the times.
- Acknowledge, recognize, and incorporate the gifts of Associates into the mission of the Sinsinawa Dominican family.
- Celebrate being part of the Sinsinawa Dominican family through social gatherings and shared prayer.
Associates agree to share prayer, study, community experiences, and sometimes ministry. Wherever Sinsinawa Dominicans gather, whether it's Trinidad, Alabama, or Alaska, local communities offer Associates opportunities for integrating the life and values of the women of Sinsinawa with their own.
Dominican Associates of Sinsinawa Mission Statement We are women and men called by God to live in prayerful relationship with Dominicans of Sinsinawa, each other, and all creation. We seek to live out the simplicity of Gospel values and the Sinsinawa Dominican mission in the context of our own lifestyle. Reverencing the sacredness of our individual lives as well as the power of our corporate life, we call ourselves to enter into a process of transformation of our lives together that will release the energy among us for the sake of mission.
