Ministry of Prayer

The one constant in the life of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters is prayer—prayer in compassionate love for our benefactors and for the needs of people all over the world. Daily prayer is a part of every Sister’s life and is the main ministry of our retired Sisters.

Prayer at Sinsinawa

The Sinsinawa Dominicans pray daily for our benefactors and anyone who asks for prayer. This fiscal year, 4,250 prayer requests were received. Names of those requesting prayer are posted on the in-house television system and are remembered in the celebration of the Eucharist at the Motherhouse and St. Dominic Villa. The Sisters minister in prayer to bring faith-filled support to our brothers and sisters as we work to build a holy and just society. Honors and Memorials Program

Remember your loved ones through our Honors and Memorials program. Give a gift as an honor for a living person or as a memorial for someone deceased, and both you and your loved one will be remembered in the celebration of the Eucharist at our Motherhouse and Villa and in the daily prayer of our Sisters.

In addition to acknowledging your gift, we also send a card (see designs at right) to the honoree or to the family of the deceased. Names of those honored or memorialized are published in Sinsinawa Dominican Vision magazine. Names of those who made the donations are published in the annual report (see pgs. 16 to 36 of this magazine).
