Catching Fire From Dominic's Vision

Dear Benefactors, Sisters, Sponsored Institution Leaders, Associates, and Coworkers,
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2006–07 [July 1, 2006–June 30, 2007] was a year of tremendous generosity on the part of our supporters. Donors belonging to our Sinsinawa Circle and to our Partners of Hope, Justice, Compassion, Truth, Peace, Ministry, and Hospitality continue to enable us to work in the many ministries through which we live our Dominican commitment to preach the Gospel.
Sections of this annual report attest to the phenomenon of both new life and diminishment that characterizes our lives today. Participating with others in the building of a more holy and just society, we partner and collaborate with lay, religious, and ordained members of our Church and with people of other faiths. Our smaller numbers and dispersion over broad geographic areas challenge us as individuals to witness to the fire of Dominic’s vision and to invite others to share that vision.
In his Memoirs, our founder, Father Samuel Mazzuchelli, wrote, “Every person in the world is called by Divine Providence to fulfill those duties which constitute the various occupations of life needed for the formation and progress of human society” (p. 3). Were he alive today, he would surely marvel at the way in which so many persons in our world unite in efforts to make a better world for all.
Our gratitude to each of you for sharing the fire of Dominic’s vision, for furthering the work of the institutions we began, and for generously supporting our efforts.
