Sr. Tanya Finds Happiness in Sisterhood
Several years ago while I was still living in Pennsylvania, I was introduced to a little book, The Hound of Heaven, by Francis Thompson. At the time, I did not know that Thompson’s poem would become a metaphor for my journey to religious life. South Florida Associates: Our Story
In 1997, Mary Ann Shea, OP, and Jeanne Drea, OP, opened their home in West Palm Beach for monthly soup and prayer. Helen Dailey, OP, and Loretto Wolff, OP; Associates Barbara Roth, Jean Moffet, Marian Bunce, and Paula Winker; and neighboring Adrian Dominican Sisters gathered. Migrants Find Refuge at Casa del Migrante
From January to September 2008, I was a volunteer at the Casa del Migrante in Juarez, Mexico. This is a house of hospitality which offers secure shelter, warm meals, clean clothing, and counseling to migrants from southern Mexico and Central America en route to the United States and to those deported to Mexico from the United States.
