Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men Couldn’t put Humpty together again.

You may have heard that I, like Humpty Dumpty, had a great fall. I managed to break both legs. The right leg in two places, the left leg only an ankle. I figured if I’m going to do it, I may as well go all the way. Though it had been impossible for “all the king’s horses and all the king’s men” to put him together again, Humpty may have not heard of our St. Dominic Villa. It is not only probable, it is possible. I can’t say enough about the staff at the Villa. The care; thoughtfulness; professional skills of the workers, aides, nurses, therapists, and administration that I experienced is not only helpful to the patients, it is so sincere. As each problem sprang up, it was studied, a plan was decided upon to solve it, and action was taken. Meds are always planned out to keep pain at a minimum and mobility at a maximum. I was impressed by the large number of Sisters who can either push themselves in a wheelchair, walk with a walker, or walk unaided. It is a great thing to see how independent they are encouraged to be at the Villa. A vital part of each day is set aside for prayer and Mass. Sociability, too, is fostered by different groups who come to entertain with dancing, singing, or playing different instruments. These activities are always easily accessible for the Sisters. It is always good to see the entertainers as well as those entertained. I am so grateful for this experience to see the Villa up close and personal. It is clear that Sinsinawa Dominicans never lose their sense of humor or their warm friendships. So, this Humpty Dumpty is being put together by love, your prayers, and a skilled staff. Thanks to all.
