Parishioners, students, and community members joined in a very special celebration June 7 at St. James, Ventnor, NJ, to honor the extraordinary service and dedication of Principal Joan Mary Baldridge, OP, and 3rd-grade Teacher Eduarda Makal, OP. The community also celebrated the Dominican Sisters who taught and were a part of the school’s tradition for 75 years. “They have been the foundation to our children’s Catholic education and have brought a unique spirit to our community,” said a recent article from the Holy Family Regional School newsletter. “Our beloved Sisters have given so much to our children. . . . We’ll celebrate their commitment to our school, but most importantly thank them for their devotion, their kindness, and the love they have shown our children and community.”
