A longtime fixture at Dominican University as president emerita and professor emerita of French, Sister Jean Murray, OP (Meredith), developed and leads an annual seminar in Fanjeaux, France, where faculty and staff from different Dominican colleges live in community and learn about their common Dominican heritage and history in the place where it all began. The experience has been called transformative by many in the way attendees understand the mission of their own institution and their role within it. “Community is what I most appreciate about being a Sinsinawa Dominican,” said Sr. Jean. “It offers me opportunities to grow in understanding of our life and mission.”
