Welcoming Thresholds: Evolution Continues
Over the past ten years, the Mission Integration Office has evolved and welcomed many new thresholds. Even our name has changed from Sponsorship Office to Mission Effectiveness Office to Mission Integration Office.
Originally, we worked full time to assist our institutions in exercising their responsibility for mission integration by attending board meetings to evaluate presidents, boards, and the institution’s mission effectiveness; gather all presidents and principals annually to share ideas and strengthen partnerships; and provide pertinent information to the corporation members. Today we work part time. We assist the leadership in understanding the relevance of their mission in every aspect of the school. We annually convene the leadership of the schools to share ideas and expertise with one another.
The next threshold will be to continue to pass on more responsibility to the institutions. This might also lay the groundwork for future developments relative to the canonical status of our sponsored institutions. The evolution of sponsorship continues.
