Sr. Tanya Williams is on her way to work. Sr. Tanya Williams is on her way to work.

Sister Tanya Williams, OP, ministers at the Hennepin County Adult Correctional Facility, working with women as an adult education instructor focusing on work readiness. While teaching inmates about the skills they need to acquire and maintain employment, Sr. Tanya said, “The women gift me with their stories, wisdom, raw truthfulness, and humor.” She also is a graduate student at St. Catherine University studying theology. “For the first time, I am engaged in a ministry that calls forth the best of my spiritual journey, professional experience, and desire to co-participate in creating a world of mutuality, solidarity, and justice,” she said. “I am enjoying the energy I have for study, prayer, contemplation, and relationships.”
