A Sacred Resting Place
Sinsinawa, WI

Sr. Ruella Bouchonville is in the process of creating an urn from clay. Sr. Ruella Bouchonville is in the process of creating an urn from clay.

With her deep spiritual connection to the natural world, Sister Ruella Bouchonville, OP (Mary Des Neiges), makes cremation burial urns for Sisters and others upon request. “I have great respect for the material I am working with,” said Sr. Ruella. “The clay is millions of years old. There is a trust and bonding with the Sisters when I am asked to do this.” As she works on her urns, she thinks about the person who commissioned it and what symbols or words were chosen to represent the person.
