Prioress of St. Dominic Villa
by Eileen Dushek-Manthe

Sr. Mary Ann Carroll
Mary Ann Carroll, OP, has been appointed Prioress of St. Dominic Villa. Mary Ann said that, after ministering with the St. Clara and Siena communities at the Motherhouse, ministering with the Villa community seems natural.
Mary Ann goes to the Villa with gratitude in her heart. She commends those who were responsible for bringing Rice Management to the Villa. “The pastoral staff and Rice form a team. They consistently rank well with the state visits.” Mary Ann is also grateful for the Sisters with whom she has ministered at the Motherhouse. “They have taught me about the ability to be flexible. Even with their impairments, they still have a sense of humor, help others, adapt really well, and go with what life presents.” Mary Ann has been especially grateful to share the prayer life and deep-seated peace with Sisters at the Mound.
At the Villa, Mary Ann looks forward to sharing the wisdom of the Sisters, their prayer life, and simply being present with the Sisters. “If a Sister says, ‘I just want to talk to you,’ I want to hear her anxieties or the good news about her family.” She believes she will bring to the position patience, organization, and a willingness to do what she can to help. “I want the Sisters to know they can count on me.”
Mary Ann will continue to live at West Knoll.
