The Sinsinawa Mound Collaborative Farm offers land, education, infrastructure, and mentorship to beginning farmers. By eliminating some of the biggest barriers beginning farmers face, we make it possible for them to explore a career in agriculture with little financial risk or up-front capital investment. Farmers are able to build their capacity, develop a farm business, and contribute to a thriving local food system.
Launched in 2017, the collaborative farm currently consists of 4 acres in annual vegetable production and cover crops, with a long-term goal of expanding our services to train farmers in perennial production, livestock, and grazing. All production on Sinsinawa land is certified organic through the Midwest Organic Services Association (MOSA).

CRITERIA:
- Less than 10 years farming experience
- Collaborative and community-minded
- Willingness to farm organically
- Commitment to good land stewardship
- Openness to learning and sharing with peers

CITY GIRL FARMING (CGF)

CGF was founded in December 2017 and is owned and operated by Justyna Miranda. She is committed to be a steward of the land at Sinsinawa and has a mission to reconnect food and people.
SANDHILL FARM
6th Year
We sell produce at local farmers’ markets and through a CSA. Our partnership is rooted in the desire to provide family, friends, and the community with fresh produce. We love growing and cooking food, and focusing on farming in a way that contributes to our earth. We are eagerly exploring practices to increase soil carbon, reduce tillage, and expand our diversity of cover crops.
