St. Brigid Water Font

As well as being the patron of healers and midwives, St Brigid is strongly associated with many holy wells around Ireland, where water has long played a significant part in sacred celebrations. In days of chivalry, knights called the girls they were to marry ‘Brides’.

I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Revelations 22
