LCWR Elects New Leadership

The Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) national board voted unanimously to appoint Kathy Brazda, CSJ, as president. She became the president at the transfer of leadership Aug. 16 at the LCWR assembly in Orlando, FL. Kathy is the president of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, LaGrange Park, IL. She holds degrees and has work experience in administration, communications/marketing, development/fundraising, education, formation, literature, pastoral ministry, spirituality, and strategic planning.

LCWR members elected Vicky Larson, PBVM, a member of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Sioux Falls, SD, as president-elect. The members also elected Sandra Helton, SSND, and Betsy Pawlicki, OP, to the LCWR board. They joined returning national board members Laura Bregar, OSU; Nkechi Iwuoha, PHJC; Patty Johnson, CSJ; Rose Martin, RSM; Sean Peters, CSJ; Veronica Esparza Ramirez, OP; and Celeste Trahan, CCVI.

The terms of the newly elected leaders for 2024–2025 began at the conclusion of the LCWR assembly.
