Living Cosmology reflected in Pope Francis (via Zoom)

August 28 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Our living creation story (or living cosmology) – within which we and all beings are immersed – reveals the deep-time values of differentiation, interiority and communion. These universal dynamics provide a comprehensive context from which to reflect on our tradition’s evolving religious consciousness and teachings. In this light we will reflect on Pope Francis’ teachings, especially the encyclicals, Laudato Si’ – On Care for Our Common Home and Fratelli Tutti – On Fraternity and Social Friendship.     (image of Pope Francis illustrated by Greg Joens)

This mini-retreat looks through this doorway of our cosmological identity as a spiritual journey possessing inherent values, that live like seeds constantly activated within us as mutual respect, a culture of care, kindness, justice, healing – pathways to peace. These are cosmological tendencies and Gospel ideals aptly mirrored in the teachings of Pope Francis. We are humanitarian, Christian and Catholic within an amazing universal, self-emergent and intrinsically spiritual process of cosmogenesis living hand-in-hand with Christogenesis.

This 90-min retreat offers reflection on these converging themes, inspiring and challenging us as Christians and as cosmological beings sharing ‘a blessed common belonging’ in God’s Great Creation Story as yet unfolding within and around us.

Saturday, August 28, 2-3:30 p.m. CDT. You will receive the zoom link via email on Friday, August 27.

$15/person. Registration deadline is Thursday, August 26 at 4 p.m.
