“Meeting Alzheimer’s: The Healing Power of “Yes”
Weaving together science specific to Alzheimer’s disease, spirituality, and the artful practice of improvisation, this introductory workshop/presentation offers caregivers an experience that is informative, inspiring, empowering, and engaging. Participants will learn the most important technique for communicating with persons living with Alzheimer’s or dementia: Accepting what is. Also known as Saying “Yes!” Research has shown that saying “Yes” in this context can reduce caregiver stress — so join us for this opportunity to learn and grow in ways that will help your loved ones and yourself.

Presenter: Rev. Dr. Jade Angelica’s education and training include a Masters of divinity from Harvard Divinity School, a Certificate from the Shalem Institute Spiritual Guidance Program, a Doctor of Ministry in Faith, Health and Spriituality from Andover Newton Theological School, and a Diploma from Improv Boston University that deems her “perfectly OK not knowing what in the world is going on!” Her most important and most rewarding ministry, to date, has been caring for her mother, Jeanne, who died from Alzheimer’s in 2011.
Jade is author of the book, Where Two Worlds Touch: A Spiritual Journey Through Alzheimer’s Disease, the CD, Meeting Alzheimer’s: Companionship on the Journey, and the audio play now available on YouTube, The Forgiving & The Forgetting: Hope and Healing for Alzheimer’s.
