Natura Divina: Imbolc/St. Brigid/Candlemas/Cross Quarter
February 1, 2020 1:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree
The half way point between solstices and equinoxes are known as “cross-quarters” and are significant feast days in the Celtic calendar. Today we honor one of those Gaelic feasts: Imbolc, which is also St. Brigid Day. We’ll also honor the feast of Candlemas.
This outdoor, ecumenical gathering is centered on honoring the sacred cycles of the year and situating ourselves within the wider community of Creation. Each two-hour session will include fire and ritual, community and song, prayer and contemplation. Our gatherings draw on the Liturgical calendar, Celtic spirituality and its feasts, as well as the growing Wild Church Network. We will meet inside the main entrance and proceed outdoors. Dress for outdoor weather.
Saturday, February 1, 1-3 p.m. Free will offering; no registration required.
Facilitator: Eric Anglada (Ecological Programming Coordinator)
