Jubilarians 2019

70 Years of Religious Life

The following four Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa will celebrate their 70th jubilee at a Mass in the Gathering Place Chapel at Sinsinawa Mound on Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Sister Marie Condon, OPSister Marie Condon, OP, has ministered in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Florida. Her religious name was Sr. Dominice. Sr. Marie's ministry has been dedicated to teaching and elementary administration. In the Diocese of Madison, she taught at St. Raphael, Madison, 1957-1963; ministered as the principal at St. Joseph, Baraboo, 1965-1970; and served as the assistant prioress at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa, 1992-1996. In the Archdiocese of Chicago, Sr. Marie taught at Visitation Grade School, Chicago, 1978-1983; and St. Cajetan, Chicago, 1983-1986. She served as a pastoral minister at St. Basil-Visitation Parish, Chicago, 1986-1992, and as a tutor at Marillac House, Chicago, 2004-2005, and The Learning Center, Chicago, 2005-2012. In the Diocese of St. Augustine, Sr. Marie ministered as a social worker with Catholic Charities, St. Augustine, 1996-2004. She is living in community at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, WI. Sr. Marie’s home parish is St. Sabina, Chicago, in the Chicago Archdiocese. She is the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Carroll) Condon. Click here to send an honor online. 

Sister Mary Alice Neylon, OPSister Mary Alice Neylon, OP, has ministered in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Wyoming, the District of Columbia, and Oklahoma, as well as Mexico. Her religious name was Sr. Elena. Sr. Mary Alice's ministry has been dedicated to pastoral work. She is living in community at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa. Her home parish is St. Mary, West Chicago, in the Joliet Diocese. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Olive (Junk) Neylon. Click here to send an honor online.

 

Sister Sigrid Simlik , OPSister Sigrid Simlik , OP, has ministered in Maryland, Wisconsin, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Arizona. Her ministry has been dedicated to teaching and hospital chaplaincy. She is living in community at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, WI. Sr. Sigrid’s home parish is St. Joachim and St. Anne, Sun City, in the Phoenix Diocese. She is the daughter of the late Paul and Catherine (Mikeska) Simlik. Click here to send an honor online. 

 

Sister Roslyn Snyder, OPSister Roslyn Snyder, OP, has ministered in Illinois, the District of Columbia, Wisconsin, Alabama, and Mississippi. Her religious name was Sr. Adeltrude. Sr. Roslyn's ministry has been dedicated to teaching and religious education. In the Archdiocese of Mobile, Sr. Roslyn taught at Most Pure Heart of Mary, Mobile, 1962-1963, and also was principal there, 1967-1968. She taught and served as assistant principal at Bishop Toolen High School, Mobile, 1968-1970. Sr. Roslyn taught and was principal at Our Mother of Mercy, Plateau, 1970-1971, and at St. Joseph, Tuskegee, 1972-1974. She ministered at St. Jude High School and Parish, Montgomery, as a teacher and parish minister, 1978-1986. Sr. Roslyn is living in community at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa. Her home parish is St. Michael, Galena, in the Rockford Diocese. She is the daughter of the late Peter and Mathilda (Kaiser) Snyder. Click here to send an honor online.
