Jubilarians 2022 -- 75 years
The following two Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa will celebrate their 75th jubilee at a Mass on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022.
Sister Vivian (Priscilla) Gorman, OP, has ministered in Alabama, Wyoming, Illinois, California and Wisconsin. Her ministry has been dedicated to teaching and educational administration. Sr. Vivian was born in Red Wing, MN. She taught and was principal in several elementary schools throughout the country. Her great love for history led her to minister in Washington, DC. There, she got involved in adult education classes teaching English to men and women from a variety of countries. Sr. Vivian is living in community at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, WI. Her home parish is St. Columbkille, Goodhue, in the St. Paul and Minneapolis Archdiocese. She is the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (McNamara) Gorman. Click here to send an honor online.Sister Alban Hermes, OP, has ministered in Illinois, Minnesota, Alabama, and Wisconsin. Her ministry has been dedicated to teaching and pastoral ministry. In the Chicago Archdiocese, Sr. Alban taught at St. Brendan, Chicago, 1947–1950; St. Sabina, Chicago, 1951–1956; St. Patrick, Lemont, 1960–1965; St. Thomas More, Chicago, 1965–1967; Visitation, Chicago, 1969–1971; and St. Mary, Evanston, 1973–1977. She served as pastoral minister at St. Mary Parish, Evanston, 1977–1983, and Our Lady of Knock Parish, Calumet City, 1984–2012. In the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Sr. Alban ministered at St. Lawrence, Faribault, as teacher, 1950–1951, and as principal and teacher, 1967–1969. In the Diocese of Rockford, Sr. Alban taught at St. Michael, Galena, 1956–1960. In the Archdiocese of Mobile, Sr. Alban ministered as principal and teacher at St. Joseph, Tuskegee, 1971–1972. In the Diocese of Green Bay, Sr. Alban taught at St. Peter, Oshkosh, 1972–1973. In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Sr. Alban ministered as pastoral associate at St. Clement Parish, Sheboygan, 1983–1984. She is living in community at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa. Her home parish is Holy Trinity, Bloomington, in the Peoria Diocese. She is the daughter of the late John and Frances (Ridder) Hermes. Click here to send an honor online.
