Laudato Si' Action Platform
In 2016, Pope Francis wrote an encyclical called Laudato Si’. Many of us have read and studied and been inspired by it; however, the encyclical has not yet had the impact that it should have had. Much was written about it; many applauded its scope and vision; however, no significant actions were undertaken as a result of it. Little progress was made on the issues presented.
Laudato Si’ calls us to sustainability in the spirit of integral ecology. This requires us to have a new way of seeing, thinking, and acting. As Pope Francis said,
We are not faced with two separate crises, one environmental and the other social, but rather one complex crisis which is both social and environmental. Strategies for a solution demand an integrated approach to combating poverty, restoring dignity to the underprivileged, and at the same time protecting nature (Laudato Si’ 139).
The Laudato Si’ Action Platform (LSAP) provides practical tools to address this socio-ecological crisis. Please join us as we take part in this ground-up approach, empowering all people to take “decisive action, here and now” as we journey towards a better future together (LS 161).
