Sister Catherine Lyons, OP (Marie Edmund), died March 13, 2017. Professed in 1948, she taught in the following schools: Incarnation, Minneapolis; Sacred Heart, Eagle Grove, IA; Holy Trinity, Bloomington, IL; SS. Faith, Hope, and Charity, Winnetka, IL; and St. Patrick, Rockford, IL. Sr. Catherine ministered as principal at St. Patrick, Green Bay, WI; St. Mary, Appleton, WI; Consolidated Catholic School, Faribault, MN; Annunciation, Minneapolis; and St. Jerome, Columbus, WI. She served as pastoral minister at St. John the Baptist Parish, Napa, CA; as prioress of the motherhouse, Sinsinawa, WI; and as finance staff, Camp WeHaKee, Winter, WI. Sr. Mary Kathryn served as pastoral associate at St. Michael Parish, South Sioux City, NE, where she was also a teacher, and at Sacred Heart Parish, Reedsburg, WI, and was activity coordinator at St. Dominic Villa, Dubuque. Sister Jeanne Flanagan, OP (John Dominici), died Jan. 14, 2017. Professed in 1949, she taught at Bethlehem Academy, Faribault, MN; St. Mary, Cheyenne, WY; and St. John Cathedral, Milwaukee. Sr. Jeanne served as principal at St. Joseph Cathedral, Sioux Falls, SD; Queen of Peace, Burbank, IL; and Dominican, Whitefish Bay, WI, and as dean of girls at O’Gorman Catholic High School, Sioux Falls, SD. She served the Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation as prioress provincial of the Southwest Province and ministered as adult education director at Epiphany Parish, Oklahoma City, OK, and St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Richardson, TX. Sr. Jeanne was the assistant director of the Office of Religious Education for the Diocese of Beaumont, TX, and spiritual director and scripture teacher at the motherhouse, Sinsinawa. She ministered as secretary/support staff at St. Thomas Aquinas School, Milwaukee; Visitation School, Chicago; Misericordia Home North, Chicago; Sacred Heart School, Washington, DC; St. Luke Convent, River Forest, IL; and for the Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation’s Eastern Province.
