‘The Overstory’ Book Discussion Begins Oct. 1
SINSINAWA, Wis.—The Fall Book Discussion at Sinsinawa Mound will focus on “The Overstory” by Richard Powers. We’ll meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1 and 22. Powers recently won the Pulitzer Prize for this sweeping, impassioned novel on trees, animals and activism. The book explores the essential conflict on this planet: the one taking place between humans and nonhumans. Discover how a handful of people learn to see this conflict and are drawn up into its unfolding challenge. Each session will cover roughly half of the book, and participants are welcome to attend one or both.
Copies are available for purchase at Sinsinawa Book & Gift Gallery. Discussion will be facilitated by Coordinator of Ecological Programming Eric Anglada. No registration is necessary, and a freewill offering will be appreciated. For more information, contact Anglada at 608-748-4411 or email@example.com or visit our website at www.sinsinawa.org/moundcenter.
