Mary Ann Nelson, OP (right), attended the Dominican Charism Initiative Dialogue in February where 27 Dominican Sisters and lay partners from around the world engaged in discussion and creative planning in Houston, TX. Mary Ellen O’Grady, OP, also attended along with Associates Rita Cutarelli and MaDonna Thelen. They gathered to address the following questions: How do we pass on the Dominican charism? How do we create new, relevant expressions of the charism to ensure its ongoing vitality?.

Indiantown Visit

Sr. Joyce Thrives at St. Dennis

Joyce Poeschl, OP, attributes her Sinsinawa Dominican vocation to Maria Loughrin, OP (1887–1952). Maria taught literature when Joyce was a 7th-grade student at St. Peter School in Oshkosh. Maria became ill and passed away suddenly in October 1952. At her funeral Mass, the pastor commented, “Perhaps someone here will carry on for Sr. Maria.” Read more . . .
