Leadership Council Term Extension
On March 31, the Vatican’s Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CICLSAL) approved the request from the 2019 Extraordinary Chapter to defer the 2021 General Chapter until 2023, with the corresponding extension of the term of office of the leadership of the Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation. Thereafter, Sister and Councilor Pat Beckman, OP, discerned the need to resign from her elected position. Prioress Toni Harris, OP, accepted Pat’s resignation effective April 15. The Congregation thanks Pat for her generous service during the past nearly four years. The Leadership Council elected at the 2016 General Chapter includes (pictured above from left) Colleen Settles, OP; Betsy Pawlicki, OP; Pat Beckman; Angelo Collins, OP; Toni Harris; and Pam Mitchell, OP.
“We are grateful for the efforts of our Dominican Brother, Benjamin Earl, OP, Procurator General of the Order, who presented this request to CICLSAL on our behalf,” said Prioress Toni Harris. “Thank you for your patience and support as we waited several months for this determination from CICLSAL. Let us hold one another in affection and prayer as we move together into the future that beckons us.”
In his letter, Benjamin wrote, “I take the opportunity to wish you every blessing as you celebrate the Lord’s passion and resurrection—may it be a sign of hope for the world in these strange times. I also wish you a fruitful completion of your project at Sinsinawa.”
