Sister Elizabeth Fiorite, OP

Sister Elizabeth Fiorite, OP, has ministered in Illinois, Wisconsin, Alabama, and Florida. Her religious name was Sister Maria Maddalena. Sr. Elizabeth’s ministry has been dedicated to education and ministry to those with visual impairments. In Illinois, she taught at Holy Trinity, Bloomington, 1954-1957; St. Patrick, Bloomington, 1961-1963; and St. Patrick, Rockford, 1971-1972. Sr. Elizabeth ministered as pastoral associate at Visitation Parish, Chicago, 1986-1992, In Wisconsin, she taught at Holy Family, Whitefish Bay, 1957-1961, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Milwaukee, 1972-1974, and ministered as principal at St. Thomas Aquinas, Kenosha, 1974-1983. In Alabama, Sr. Elizabeth taught at Most Pure Heart of Mary, Mobile, 1963-1971. In Florida, she served as a counselor to adults with vision impairments at Independent Living for Adult Blind, Jacksonville, 1994-2013, where she continues to volunteer. She is living in community with her Dominican Sisters. Her home parish is Ascension, Oak Park, IL.
