Sister Mary Kent Pearson, OP

Sister Mary Kent Pearson, OP, died Feb. 19, 2024. Professed in 1954, her ministry was dedicated to teaching, administration, religious education, and pastoral ministry. In Wisconsin, she was principal at St. John Vianney, Janesville; St. Dennis, Madison; and St. Jerome, Columbus. She taught at Sacred Heart, Reedsburg, and served at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa, as director of property and as director of housekeeping. In Illinois, Sr. Mary Kent taught at St. Philip the Apostle, Northfield; St. Thomas the Apostle, Chicago; St. Sabina, Chicago; and Visitation, Kewanee. Elsewhere, she taught at St. Dominic, Denver, and at St. Albert the Great, Minneapolis. In Iowa, she served as assistant administrator at St. Dominic Villa, Dubuque; as associate pastor, pastoral minister, and coordinator of religious education at St. John the Baptist Parish, Peosta; and as pastoral minister at Holy Family Parish, Peosta.
