Sister Mary Marie, OP

Sister Mary Marie, OP, has ministered in Illinois, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Montana, New York, and Iowa. Her religious name was Sister Pedra. Sr. Mary’s religious life has been dedicated to pastoral ministry and liturgy. In Illinois, she taught at St. Barnabas, Chicago, 1954-1959; St. Sabina, Chicago, 1989-1990; and Our Lady of Grace, Chicago, 1990-1995. In Wisconsin, Sr. Mary taught at Edgewood Campus School, Madison, 1968-1975, and St. John Vianney, Janesville, 1979-1983. She ministered as a family caregiver at St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa, 2000-2006, and at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa, 2007-2011. She served in the Liturgy Office at the Motherhouse, 2011-2023. In Pennsylvania, Sr. Mary served in Lock Haven as a pastoral visitor at Immaculate Conception Parish and St. Agnes Parish (now jointly Holy Spirit Parish) and served on the staff at Lock Haven Catholic School, 1996-2000. She is living in community with her Dominican Sisters in Muskego, WI. her home parish is St. Mark, Peoria, IL.
