Sister Shirley Schreiber, OP

Sister Shirley Schreiber, OP, has ministered in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Montana, and Indiana. Her religious name was Sister John Gorcum. Sr. Shirley’s ministry has been dedicated to teaching. In Wisconsin, Sister Shirley taught at Queen of Peace, Madison, 1970-1971; St. Rose, Cuba City, 1979-1980; and St. Mary, Portage, 1980-1985. She ministered as a family caregiver at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, 2007-2011. In Illinois, Sr. Shirley taught at St. Bernard, Peoria, 1971-1979 and 1992-1999, and at St. Clare (now Holy Trinity), Bloomington, 1985-1989, where she also served as principal. She ministered as the director of religious education at St. Anthony Parish, Bartonville, 1989-1992. Sr. Shirley is living in community with her Dominican Sisters in Muskego, WI. Her home parish is St. Thomas the Apostle, Peoria Heights, IL. She is the daughter of the late Fred and Geraldine (O’Halloran) Schreiber.   Click here to send an honor online.
